In 2021 Lova organises the ninth round of the biennial Lova Marjan Rens Master’s Thesis Award. Graduates who recently completed their master’s thesis at a university in The Netherlands in the field of gender studies and feminist anthropology are cordially invited to submit their thesis. Three award-winners will be invited to write an article based on their thesis for publishing in the Lova Journal of December 2021 and the winner on the first place will receive a donation of 500 euro. The awards will be handed out at a Lova event in 2021.

Criteria for participation 

  • the thesis has been completed between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020
  • the thesis was marked with an 8 or higher
  • the thesis is written from a feminist anthropological perspective in which the relationship between gender and power is central
  • the thesis is written in Dutch or English
  • the thesis was written for a Dutch university or institute

Guidelines for submission 

  • send a digital copy of your thesis by email before February 15, 2021
  • do not forget to mention your name, postal address, and telephone number in the accompanying message
