Winning picture of Lova Multimodal Competion 2016 by Abu Ahasan
In 2016 a Lova Photo Competition was launched and since then every two year a special committee of volunteers organised it. Since 2021 we speak of a Multimodal Competition, as we wanted to stimulate creativity by inviting participants to submit also other visuals like short videos, drawings, or an animation.
Each round a specific theme was selected in line with Lova’s mission to enhance feminist anthropology and gender studies. The competition is organized in the Spring on Lova’s Facebook page.
A jury of experts in the field of visual anthropology selects the contributions for the Jury Award and by counting likes on on the Facebook page also an Adience Award is provided. The award winners receive a donation of fifty euros and a two-year free Lova membership. Winning contributions are published in the Lova Journal, added by some other best pictures selected by the jury. The winning contribution are also published on this Lova website.
